Secure IT Recycling in London That Does Good

Recycle4Charity is a London-based Community Interest Company (CIC) providing certified IT recycling for London businesses — collecting redundant laptops, phones and tablets, securely destroying all data, and refurbishing usable devices free for digitally-excluded Londoners. The rest is responsibly recycled to WEEE standards. You get full compliance and a shareable ESG impact report; the community gets connected.

Secure IT recycling for London businesses — and a second life for every device

Recycle4Charity exists because two problems in London share a single solution. Businesses generate redundant IT every year — laptops, phones, servers and tablets that need to be disposed of securely and compliantly. At the same time, millions of Londoners live without a device, cut off from employment, education and the digital economy.

Our IT recycling service handles both at once. When your business books a collection, we come to your office, securely destroy all data (issuing a certificate for your GDPR records), and take everything away. Working devices are refurbished and given free to digitally-excluded Londoners through our network of partner charities and community organisations. The rest is recycled responsibly through licensed WEEE channels. You receive a compliance certificate and an ESG impact report.

This is IT recycling in London that meets your legal obligations — and does something worth talking about.

What we recycle

We handle the full range of business IT: laptops, computers, servers, mobile devices, monitors, printers, hard drives and storage media, AV and camera equipment and data centre decommissioning. Individual donors can donate a laptop or tablet or recycle an old phone for charity.

Frequently asked questions

Recycle4Charity is a London-based Community Interest Company (CIC) that collects redundant business IT, securely destroys all data, and refurbishes working devices for digitally-excluded Londoners — at no cost to recipients. Unusable equipment is recycled through licensed WEEE channels. The service turns a business compliance obligation into a measurable social and environmental impact.

Every device collected is logged, assessed and either refurbished or responsibly recycled. Data-bearing items are securely wiped or physically destroyed before reuse, and you receive a certificate of data destruction. Working devices are given free to people in need through trusted partner organisations; the remainder enters licensed WEEE recycling.

Yes — every data-bearing device is wiped or physically destroyed to recognised standards before leaving our custody, and a certificate of data destruction is issued for your GDPR and audit records. UK GDPR (Data Protection Act 2018) makes businesses responsible for securing data on disposed devices; our process satisfies that obligation.

Collection is free for most business collections across Greater London. Individual donors donating personal devices are not charged either. Contact us for larger decommissioning projects or specialist equipment — we'll confirm arrangements before any work begins.

Refurbished devices go free to digitally-excluded Londoners — isolated older people, refugees, low-income families and young people lacking devices for education or work — through Recycle4Charity's partner network of charities, community groups and schools across the city.
